Hyperion-Litestorm = Thunderpower ?!?

in German forum i have read, that the
(here cheaper) Hyperion Litestorm Lipos

are the same as the Thunderpower 2100 Prolite

same weight, same size, and when you measure them: same discharge-curves..

so: is that true ? have not read anything of this here in this forum

Thunder Power Pro Lite 1320 / Hyeprion VL 1320. Are they the same ? They sure seem more alike than different.

It has been suggested before but I don't know. I own some of both and they seem identical cells.

I believe they are the very similar if not the same cells but here in the States I don't know that Hyperion is cheaper than TP???

TP Prolite 3S 2100 can be found for $63.95 list. Anyone know of a place to buy the Hyperions for less???

For some reason, the 4S 2100 Hyperion packs are usually less than the Thunder Power packs. Just bought me a Hyperion 4S 2100 pack I can't wait to try in one of my warbirds.

@eguru:

a Thunderpower 2s 2100 Prolite (no 3s in the shop for the moment) costs here already 59 Euro ! (thats 75 US$ for the 2s pack !!!)

so -> a 3s pack would costs around 112 US$ here

the lightstorms are considerable cheaper here

You haven't been looking hard enough

TP PL 3s 2100 for $63.95

http://www.lightflightrc.com/

And we all know they can be had for cheaper but $63.95 is a list price available to anybody...

Kraeuterbutter:
I also have no doubt that pricing structures can be different for different markets (i.e. Europe) So.... I guess good thing that they are substantially very similar cells... Jeez at those prices, want me to buy some and send em to you?

I think the reason 3S TP is relatively cheaper than their other offerings on a per cell basis ($21/ cell on 3S pack and $23/ cell on 4S pack) is it is the standard (most popular) cell used for comparison shopping. Thus, vendor competition (and volume selling) drives that particular pack price down.

On a similar note very often a 3S2P pack is much more than the price of 2X 3S1P pack. So... only natural to buy two 1P packs and use em in parallel!

Which drives the prices down further, and so ad infinitum

Plus two inexpensive (low output) chargers can charge two separate 3S 2100 mAh packs in a little over an hour where a 3S 2P 4200 mAh would take several hours on the same charger. Yes with two chargers you could charge two 3S2P 4200s in approx. 3 hours with two of the same chargers but that is still a long wait at the field and many can not afford a bunch of LiPolys of this size.
I for one prefer to parallel packs for greater capacity. I get more usage out of my LiPolys and if I lose a cell (rare for me but has happened) it is easier to replace a single cell or battery such as a 3S 1000-2000 than the larger ones. I have never like the idea of a permanently paralleled cells anyway. If one cell goes bad it pulls its Siamese twin(s) down with it.

Both the Gen.2 Thunderstorm and Hyperion LVX Lite Storm(20c) batteries are made by one manufacturer in Korea, Enerland company.
You can see more detailed spec if you go to www.rclovers.com, they are selling the OEM brand, Enerland battery.

It's a little late in the game to be talking about Gen 2 Tp cells, no??? If you're insinuating the TP Gen 2 cells are the same as Hyperion batts- no way.

The Sticky here

http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=482413

list LiPolys by manufactures . The info may or may not be 100% accurate.
IMO it does not really matter as not all cells made in the same plant are guranteed to be of the same specifications.
