The stock 003 motor has a 13T pinion on it.
I am going to try a 14T to see how it performs.
The tail should still hold when you punch it with a 14T.

Great!
Let us know what you think of it and if you have any questions.
If you got the BFN I have the radio setup for it in my review
for the WK-2801 Pro.

Your welcome.
The new V2 of the V120D02 is said to be pretty good
now as they fixed all the problems with it.
Dkfuji likes it and says it flies well and has 100% throttle now.
The titanium shafts sound pretty good!

Yeah...and at .6 the weight of stock steel and 3x+ stronger.

Nate,
Go to the post office and mail my shafts out before you get all involved in your new heli, please! wink wink
Have fun with the V100 and let us know how you're finding it.

regards,
Bill

the 2403 is a nice improvement on the 2402 - with the adjustment of the throttle output and the dual rate switch - its a shame that the dual rate is preset to 50%/100% but it is much better than nothing

The 2403 does sound good for a standard radio.
Adjustment of the throttle output and the dual rate switch
are nice to have. Would be perfect they had adjustment of
the dual rate amount and had a adjustable expo function on it.

I also discovered you can set the throttle curves with the RX-2441V.
You have to go to 2810 mode and set the normal throttle curve
then go back to 2401 mode. Then turn off the radio and connect the
battery to the heli then turn on the radio and let it bind.
I have set the top curve as low as 60% just to try it.

So if you are using the 2810 pro tx you can adjust the throttle curve
to your preference specifically the last curve or two.
This would be good for new pilots who donít want the throttle so sensitive
at first or want to limit the top end throttle like the 2403 does.

Tom
Thanks Tom never even thought of trying to adjust the throttle curve on the 2801 with the V100 - since it never worked with the other 100 models .
I would agree the best option is the 2801 - but for people who don't have the 2801 the 2403 is the next best option.

I'm very interested to hear how this works out. The 16t pinion is just too much for this heli, even with the 2.9g tail. I was thinking about getting a 14t pinion to try myself, but I don't have any of the tools to actually replace the pinion so it would be an expensive venture. I'd love to hear your opinion of it before I actually buy everything to do it myself.

Tom

I am going to try it out tonight. I have an 003 motor with a 16T on it
so I will pull it off and put a 14T on it.
Dkfuji said it should work good on 14T and the tail should hold on punch-outs
with the stock tail motor.
Also he said a 14T might work good on the HP06 instead of the 16T
if the 16T is too much.
Maybe the same goes for the Red Turbo Ace Motor? Iíll ask him.

It is disappointing to here your Red Turbo Ace Motor and 2.9G combo
didn't work out. It should. It works well on the CB100.
If the HP06/2.9G combo doesn't work either when I try it
then we are trouble... I can't see why we would be stuck with the
stock motors. We can use anything in the CB100 and it works well.
Maybe the RX-2441V is programmed only to work with the stock motors.
I hope not!

I am going to keep posting in your thread and update my review over there.
I wanted to post this so the people who follow my reviews know it
is over in your thread. Plus some people only read the first page and move
on or my review gets buried in the thread and people don't see it.
This has happened before like my CB100 review.

This thread will be good for questions so I kept it open instead of closing it.
Feel free to post all you want here and anyone else.

I tried a few experiments of my own. I tried a 003 with a 12t pinion with the +3 blades. It holds better, but I can still blow out the tail with hard throttle. (might work with the +1) I also tried the stock motor with my 2.9g tail just to make sure there wasn't something wrong with it, that seemed to work OK. I then tried the TurboAce with the blades from my CB100 thinking that maybe the bigger stock blades were creating an effect similar to the +3 blades. They didn't work any better. In fact they made the heli really, really, squirrely.

Although maybe I should hold judgment for now. I really think I bent my main shaft and/or feathering shaft because the heli has a serious wobble to it now when it's just hovering. (It actually got worse when I put the CB100 blades on it) If something is vibrating it could be wreaking all sorts of havoc on the gyro so who knows if what I'm seeing is normal or a result of some other issue. Unfortunately no one has the V100 main shaft in stock so I'm going to have to wait a while to get it fixed.

I'm still interested in hearing your results with the 14t though. Based on my experiments thus far I think that's going to be the sweet spot for this heli.

That's a lot of experimenting you have done. That's good!
Let's try everything we can on it.

Did you see my post on the V100D01 main shaft?
If not check it out and let me know what you think.

I posted some results over on your thread with the 003 motor.
