How are GWS DD props mounted? & will cdr spin a Slow fly prop?
All i have are slow fly props with the nut grooves that mount on threaded shafts. Are the DD props the same? I'm bout to order some shafts from GB and want to know what i need to connect the prop.
Also will a homemade cdr spin a slow fly prop without a gearbox? If so what winds are suitable for a 24mm stator? and a 20mm stator? the slowfly props i have are gws 1070.

GWS DD props have a similair mounting...the prop blades are stiffer and a little smaller. The same size DD prop usually draws less amps than a slow fly...(GWS for both)... APC makes slow fly elec props that are tottally diferent from GWS. GWS will flex on high power brushless motors.
A cdrom single will spin a slowfly prop of about 7x4 to 8x4 or better depending on the way it's wound. if you need bigger props then you start to get into gearing... Some commercial brushless motors spin much bigger ...look at the hobby lobby site...they can spin 16 inch or better on DD.
There are so many combinations...there are too many to list. But gennerally you can match the motor, to the plane, to the prop, to the battery and get what your looking for.
