Let's list the slowest of the slow flyers.

I'm interested in building the slowest slow flyer I can out of foam (Depron, EPP, Dollar Tree, FFF etc).
I've already built a Nuttball, Drenalyn, Scorpio, Smart Dart, full size Carpricorn and a mini Capricorn plus a couple home made concoctions. I also have an Ember 2.
The slowest of the above list is the Drenalyn and Ember 2. My full size Capricorn flies slow too but is too big for my yard.
I should define slow flyer. I AM NOT looking for a tri-rotor, quad rotor, heli, or pure hover machine. I want a slow flying plane I can fly around my yard with no or little wind. The Ember 2 is a bit small. I want something that is a proven design, is very light and flies Slooowww. High Alpha is OK as long as it can turn quick to avoid trees and things. I have to fly low as there are tree branches all over.

For motors I have a 5g, 10g, 24g and up to a Turnigy 3530. I have batteries from 1s 70 mah to 3S 2200. With just about everything in between :-)

I know bigger planes can be slower. So for this thread let's put a size cap on at 36". That leaves up from say 6" to 36" a huge range for this task.

To add another rule, if you recommend a plane for the list, do it because you own it, built it or flew it. I don't really care about "I saw this guy fly a plane his cousin had that he borrowed from a neighbor. It was the slowest thing I ever saw" . That won't work here.
Proven designs that you have experience with only.

This could be fun.
Start listing planes and links to the builds if you can.

This was my slowest slowflyer. The wing construction is from Christians slowly (thread: http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1686460 ) but the wing is made of 1,5mm depron. The fuselage is a triangle made of 3mm depron.

Very Slowly Teil 3 (3 min 16 sec)

Motor 5g turnigy
Lipo 2s 350mAh

Nightstone just made a real nice delta that is very stable flying high alpha with a KFm1 airfoil .

the BYOB is very slow. I've made 2 of them so far. Keep the AUW around 110 grams use a 5x3 prop on a 2S. It flies at walking pace and floats well too.

Gene Bond's 4S Bipe is a good slow and or aerobatic/3D flyer. I've had a lot of fun with mine (23" WS). Very maneuverable with those big Ailerons, Elevator and Rudder. The 23" and also 30" plans thread here:
http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=452577

For a very simple build Gens's BluStick was a hoot. 23"WS with conventional or V tail. GWS IPS DX-A and 7 x 300 NiMh's. I still have it. Would be a real floater made with 3mm Depron tail surfaces and brushless/ lipo. Hmmm.....need to update mine.

I'm going to go out on a limb and suggest what you need is not necessarily the slowest slow flyer but an EPP 3D plane, able to change directions on a dime and bounce like a ball if you screw up. They also hover, so technically they are the slowest of the slow too.

RAcores 6mm Leadfeather Yak might be just what you're looking for - Link. I fly a heavier 9mm Yak under trees for fun. Since they can hover they are also infinitely slow, but the great thing is the manueverability. You can get out of almost anything with a Leadfeather Yak.

Some smaller planes that I haven't flown - Fancy Foam's mini and micro MX2, Phoenix, Skycart, Fire Fly, Flip flop; the Mini Breeze Pro, The Tech One Mini Piaget or Mini Yak. The Sumo 3D would also be a good choice.

I know it is not a scratchbuilt but this would be my favorite slowflyer. The GWS Pico tigermoth. Enjoy

Yes the BYOB is slow, and that was with the small one. There are also plans for a 32" version of the BYOB right with the original, and if using something like 2mm depron, and everything else as light as possible, then it would probably one of the slowist out there, given it's huge wing area and low weight, and of course, lots of drag from the undercamber.

My slowest plane at the moment is The Slowly, it's made from 6mm EPP with a 1.00m / 40" wingspan.

Thank you very much for the recommendations.
The funny thing is i printed out the tiled version of the BYOB a long time ago. It is near my building board in a pile of other planes. Sounds like I should build it and fly it.
Thanks again.

PS I also like the Tiger Moth and EPP YAK. I'll try the ultra cheap route and scratch build first. I have a lot of foam on hand ...

A really slow flyer is the Sig Antoinette. Martin Hunter made a great one, slowest I've seen, 8 years ago.

Wow. I like it. I watched the video and read some of the thread.
I didn't read it all though. Do you know if someone has made one out of foam?
The stock one is Way to fragile for my yard flying...

Don't know but I haven't seen any. Don't see why you couldn't do it from scratch. The fuse/wings are pretty simple!

Here's one of my favorite slow scratchbuilt EPS parkflyers.
Able to fly at a fast walk and in a decent amount of wind!
