New build Toucan FSW w/photo's.

Recently MAN had their store item's on sale including plan's so I ordered 2 the Toucan and the V-Manta. I'll probably make the Toucan a 1 piece A/C. Plan to finish it in X-29 color's.

Nice one prodjx - a real blast from the past. I have one of these tucked away in the attic waiting for it's elevation to the top of the build queue. Just yesterday I bought on Ebay an old copy of Model Airplane News from back in August 1993 which should be a good read.
Would appreciate any specific tips you may have. My kit has a fg fuse.

The fiberglass Toucan is the T60R.
When you get the CG right they fly great.

Be curious to see how you like it. My buddy has the smaller Toucan flying, and the bigger one still unbuilt. They look great in the air - always wanted to "clone" one with a faster wing airfoil on it.

I cut my own cores, the wing's are sheeted with maple veneer. Costs slightly more than obechi but I can go to the local Woodcrafter's and get it.

Sorry a fish plug has gotten in the way. Don't have a whole lot to do to it. Install the servos, glue the wing's together and to the fuse. Cut out the canopy, figure out what kind of battery will fit etc. Then paint it like an X-29. BTW I have a fuse started for an XFG-1 fuel glider, 2m span. I have enough prodject's to keep me out of trouble. Will try to do some work on the Toucan this week, ok?

Hi DJ, looks like the CG is in the range of around 3/4 of an inch forward of the leading edge at the wing root right back to the wing root itself.

Check out these links:
