Question
Orange RX in a Reichard Lunak?

Hi fellas,

I have been using the Futaba compatible Orange rx receivers for years now in my PSS models and also in my heli´s, with no problems at all.

In the next couple of days I will finish building my new Reichard Lunak 4m span.

I was planning to use an orange receiver but now I'm wondering if its suitable.
There`s quite a few $$ invested in this model.

Appreciate any comments

Thanks

C

IMHO, you get what you pay for ... I wouldn't do it.

Thanks for the replies. I understand the logic in protecting an investment by using genuine parts and we all know Chinese quality can be hit and miss.

That said, I've had an expensive Futaba heli tail servo that was dead on arrival.

I'm planning to maiden this plane in Millau, France next week so I had better get organized and order a receiver. Still one flap servo to be installed, the wheel mounted and final balance / set up to be done.

I'll post pics when it's finished.

Receiver ordered. Went for the Futaba R 617 FS, hopefully it will be here in a couple of days.

And the battery setup :-)
With 2 5Cell NiMH batteries you will still need quite a bit of lead

Chris,
I hope this will get you in the ballpark as the Lunak and Laminar are similar airframes.
My 4.4m XLF 207 Laminar finished glider weighed in at 16 pounds zero ounces with the C/G at the recommend 100mm back from the leading edge at the wing root. This took 1pound 8 ounces of lead shot and a total of 4 Drams of 30 minute epoxy in the nose. Always C/G a glider in flying configuration, this included a 1/4 pilot and a fully charged 5 cell 4000mAh NiMH battery pack.
