You got a Y4 working? Nice! My Y6 was originally supposed to be a Y4, but I added two more motor mounts.

Yep, had a hell of a time tuning out the CCW yaw overshoot but finally figured out to decrease the loop time to 1900 and that got it solved.

See final PID's here

Y4 With SERVO

Here is my Y4 that I fitted with servo on top motor on tail. The only way that my Y4 to meet my flying style.

This unit has been dismantled for good way while back.

KK2-1.5 SERVO TAIL Y4 RE-MAIDEN (3 min 33 sec)

Pretty cool build with the yaw servo ANY coax tail. How much distance between the rear props for you to have the servo? If I tried that on mine with only ~30mm between props the top prop would hit the bottom. Probably wouldn't be an issue with non-pancake motors tho cause of the extra height.

I put a lot of time figuring out how to get my rear props as close as possible for better coax performance. Ditching the servo was my number one goal (I love tricopters, I have two [nearly identical] 570 RCExplorer V3's) but I've just never found a mini yaw setup I was happy with, I e tried all the open source 3D printed ones, I even tried designing my own and I was just never happy.

Thanks mate !
This unit has been dismantled for parts a way way back and I have no pictures and specs available.
Only reason for sharing this video is the idea to make the Y4 yaw a little faster but, honestly the servo addition exceed my expectations and the yaw response was really fast for a Y4.
For me ,the rear props does not have to be close as possible for better co-ax performance and this is basing on co-ax helis which the blade distance is really not that close. This is just my idea and not sure what other guys here think but, this build was a success.

Die Fledermaus

Since my first build "Sky Mönki" was so encouraging, I thought another venture was called for. Hence this upgraded creature came to be.

Quick update on my Y6 build. I've got the six Tarot 4114 320kv motors, they're massive! They weigh around 150g each. I've got the escs, the frame, the motors, and props, I'm currently just waiting on the motor mounts. I invested in three of these: TL68B43 from Tarot, they're the nice 16mm tube aluminum clamp dual motor mounts. I was going to use a simpler one that came on the frame, but the mounts were too small for the motors! I'm very interested to see how the vibration dampeners on the mounts work, and the props look to be already balanced when I received them (yay RCTimer)

Just finished up a lil' woodie that I hope to treat with some fpv gear for Christmas. Sunnysky 2204 2300's, velotech esc's and cc3d fc. It's 370 grams without the battery and 290mm motor to motor. Definitely a lot faster than my first build.[IMG]Name: uploadfromtaptalk1440970235550.jpg

Wow that's light! Even with a GoPro and a 1400mAh 3S, you'll still be under 550g, that's great! Nice build man
