Mounting a Vee Antenna help
Hello RCG,
Got a quick question I hope someone can help me with. I did a search yesterday and couldn't come up with any pictures or much information.
I'm just getting into FPV with my Quad and I'm trying to finalize my mounting locations for everything. Here's what I have.
FPV frame from Valuehobby.com
900mhz VTX and VRX
Futaba 9C with Spectrum Module
GoPro Hero 2 (Used for recording and FPV)
So I picked up the 900mzh 500mw VTX with a Vee Antenna from a member on RCG. He's tried to help me with mounting it but I'm still a little confused and he had it mounted on a plane.
Any of you have a Vee Antenna mounted to your quadcopter? Pictures please????
I first thought I could mount the antenna on the back of the frame with the open part of the V parallel with the frame and pointing back. It would look like a pincher bug sort of. But after talking to the seller, I should have the open part of the V facing forward and I get that. But, do I mount it so the V is flat or vertical?
I asked the seller and he said the best way to get better reception is to have the V with one arm parallel with the plane (Quadcopter Frame) and the other part of the V pointing down towards the ground with the open part facing farward.
Does that sound right to you guys? Any pictures out there???
Thank you
