Here's my semi-scale ta-152 I built from three views.

Span is 1 metre, fuselage is planked with 3mm balsa then sanded to 1.5mm. Wing is built up and fully sheeted, all cut by hand. Finish will be factory burnt orange as in the second photo.

Wing has one layer of .5 ounce 'glass and fuselage has 1 layer of .7 ounce...still a few things to finish up and going to glue/'glass it into a one piece airframe when I install the wing fairings. Power will be by an AXI 2217-12 on 3s.

Been a long time since I've built a balsa plane and this was a lot of fun.

Small potatoes by the standards of some here but this is my latest. It's an 18" span Sperry monoplane from my own drawings. Now finished in printed tissue it has a flying weight of 35.5 grams.
After a lot of plan drawing and a few foam builds I thought I'd ease myself back into balsa models gently. Not sure the clothed shots are allowed but you've got them anyway.

Hi!
I have been into the r/c hobby since I was 11.
My first plane was a hobbyzone super cub, which I still believe to be one of the best beginner planes ever built. I have come a long way from the Rtf,s, and now, my favorite planes are the ones I scratch build, there truly is nothing quite as satisfying as tossing an model that took you forty-five hours to build, into the air. Likewise there is nothing as heartbreaking as watching it unintentionally meet the ground.
The 37 inch spitfire is a guillows kit
The 12 inch Zero is scratch
The 24 inch glider is scratch, and my design
The 48 inch jenny biplane is r/c scratch electric

I am 15....

I'm participating in the "2nd Balsa Builders Conversion Contest" in the thread located HERE.

My subject is Bill Hannan's "One Knight in Boston" scaled to 30-inch wingspan (188% of the original). I found the plan on Outerzone.

I had Wednesday off from work, due to snow. I built the Fuselage and tail feathers then; and a wing half last night and this evening.

There's still time to enter...

My 1st build “SIG Somethin' Extra”

Hi,

I’m new to the hobby and this is my winter project, joined up with the “Building Clinic”. I’d have to say it’s a bit of a challenge, but lots of info, great advice and good people, here at RC Groups. Covering completed and it’ll be ready for the arrival of spring.

Thanks...

Michael

1/8 scale Peter Rake Albatross DII. Still have a lot of sanding to do, plus I need to glue and plank the fuselage (plywood on the original).

While not as elegant as some of those beautiful stick models, here are a couple of balsa scratch build vintage sport pattern and pattern ships from last year. Sorry, could not find a photo of the Super Pacer without the foamy Regal Bipe.

Just finished this guy...my first balsa profile...can't wait!

It's distracted me from my Stinson build...but the Stinson is still getting some love. I also have my buddy's Ultra Sport to build...it'll go on the board just cleared by this LamYak 40 profile.
