It depends what has happened.
Does it still work? If it has just been knocked then straighten it out using the U bend. |

Vmmattil,
Yeah, she barely notices a 17g keychain cam. The CC is definitely the best of the UMs for on-board video. The Mossie is also a great video platform - but only when there is zero turbulence. From looking at the flags, there appeared to be a pretty stiff breeze. Any idea what the wind speed was? Also - it looked like you had her up there pretty far for awhile. How high do you think it was? I was hoping to get some on-board footage of the fall colors from my yard, but the wx hasn't been cooperating. Hope we get a calm day before all of the leaves are gone. I do wish the CC had a scale airfoil. It would handle turbulence so much better if it didn't have an undercambered wing. Sure, the takeoff roll would be a bit longer & she would would come in a bit hotter when clean - but 10-15 degrees of flaps on takeoff & full-flaps on landing would take care of that. I' m also looking forward to trying out my new Hyp 500 mAh 35c Babbelbatt in the CC. I'm thinking that it will be an excellent choice for endurance flying & breezier days. It fits just fine, but my CC is a tad nose-heavy with the pack all the way back. No big deal though - a quarter-gram or so of tail ballast will fix that. I plan to shoot some ROS footage on the floats from my yard this winter. I might even mount the cam to one of the floats for a flight or two & see how that works. I wonder if anyone has shot any ROW footage from the CC? Given how wet the CC gets after an ROW flight, I'd think a waterproof cam setup would be pretty much mandatory. But an on-board ROW flight on a calm fall afternoon would be so cool! I can see it now - coming in over a tree-lined lake with the fall colors ablaze.....the tree-line reflecting off the mirror-smooth water....slipping her in over the trees.....greasing her in..... ![]() In the meantime, here's a rerun of an older on-board clip I shot at the club field. A few touch & goes, some aerobatics, flying low figure-eights & turning about a point, and just generally messing around.
B.C.NEWFIE, That was cool. Brought a tear to my eye... Joel |

Agreed! The CC should make an awesome camera platform.
I loaded mine up with a Keyfob on top, 2" Dubros underneath and a BB TP325 in the middle. It was all set to be a test of the CC's load carrying capacity. As I have done numerous times before with my UMs before, I connected the battery and pre-flight checked at home then left it powered up as I walked to the nearby field. This time when I got there I resisted the temptation to handlaunch straight away and set her down for last checks before a ROG. Good job I did! It was only supposed to be a confirmation check but upon testing both ailerons were working the same way... I have opened her up and I'm trying to short the contacts to get it back reversed. Thing is I've not remembered and I'm struggling to find on the thread search exactly how to fix it. Anyone care to please give a step by step guide how to fix this? Manythanks in advance, Tony |

Question for an umx carbon cub owner and a DX8 with FW2.06.
Hi there,
I asked the same in the dx8 & dx10 thread but with no luck. Let's try it here: When I bought my DX8 it was delivered with FW2.02 (which is factory delivered and not downloadable). With this FW2.02 I was gladly surprised to see that the umx CC had some basic telemetry: the display showed signal strength and counted frame losses and holds. After upgrading to FW2.04 the CC’s telemetry was gone. The only way to get it back was by downgrading to 2.03beta which I’m still running on (frame losses and holds are fine, signal strength isn’t). So here’s my question: is the umx CC’s basic telemetry working on the DX8 when it’s running on FW2.06? Best regards and thanks for helping! Tom. PS Other posts confirm that both the umx CC and umx mig have basic telemetry embedded in it's rx. But, is this displayed on the DX8 running on fw 2.06? |

I take it that you have to make the short first before powering up? Then powering down before removing the link. I've tried just bridging the Rx plug while powered up. The servo twitches but never remembers anything... Tony |

Yes, it worked a treat
![]() There are beeps (of a really deep mechanical sound) when the plane is powered up with the signal & + shorted. This may be a programming sequence as I had the servo all over the place, reversing the offset was one! This really threw me as it appears you have to disconnect after 1 beep for a straight forward no-ofset swapping reverse. I might just have a look and see if there is a servo thread with more details on this. If there is a way customise these servos (btw, I'm thinking more of the MiG here) then it may be wise to rig up a LiPo on a switch to make the timing easier... Tony |

The CC is an incredibly fun plane. Kudos to HH. It is so powerful, yet so agile, easy and scale. I don't consider myself a very experienced pilot, but to me, the CC does not feel like a handful anymore. Inverted flying and outside/inside loops are just so easy to perform. If I could master one more thing with it, it would be landing in very very tight spots. I am having a little trouble using the flaps, they make the plane so "floaty" and then I'm unsure how much down elevator I should apply. I am also waiting for the snow to arrive. In Finland, it could come in about 3-4 weeks. Should get some incredible footage from the frozen sea in the winter, using the floats and a HD keycam camera. Btw. what does ROW and ROS flying mean? Water and snow? |

You don't need any elevator mixing if they are used correctly. Make sure the plane is slow before you add flaps. Reduce throttle and start pulling back on the elevator. The plane will slow down. Then add flaps. With full flaps you can really make a relatively steep descent without picking up much speed. 2. Yes Rotate on Water/Snow -Brian |

Thanks Brian, I have tried flaps but that steep descent with landing is still not mastered.
Here is another CC onboard video with some high flying and couple of loops and dives
