Finally got a chance to fly the yak. It seems to fly great. I put 3 packs through it and don't have any complaints. It tracks great, feels okay on the sticks, not really light, but not a brick on the stick either, and with the 2250 packs, I've got tons of flight time available. I'm happy with it and don't need the hat pulled low and the dark sunglasses on to fly it at the field with the "peanut" gallery in attendance.

Are you attaching your lipos to the side of the fuse? I can't fit anything over 1550s in my slot. I've only got 3 1550s but a bunch of larger batteries. Be nice to use more.

Haven't been posting much lately, but have been getting a lot of flight time on the Swift - this is my favorite plane now.

I just put my YAK (35") together last night. Has anyone had issues using non-MG servos? The rudder setup also looks fragile. Are there any weak areas that need to be reinforced? I can't wait to fly it this weekend!

Not necessary, i use hs56 on mine. Stock servo is junk, gears strip in no time and welder glue to fix the hinges.

Swift motor spec?

Does anyone know the specs on the motor that comes with the Swift? It is described as: Motor: AT2814 KV 1000
I can't figure out who makes it, or what its specs are.

I saw one person used an Eflight Power10 motor, which weighs 110 grams, 32 Amps sustained current. 35mm outer diameter. $60 which seems steep for a $60 kit!

Innov8tive Design carries Cobra C-2814/16, 1050kv and 103 grams, 30 Amps, $68 with lots of hardware.

Hobbyking has a lot, of course, such as:
NTM Prop Drive Series 35-30 1100kv $15 in US warehouse. Matches the Power10 specs. out of stock in US
HobbyKing Donkey ST3007-1100kv only $10 = no thanks

Nitroplanes seems out of stock on everything.
MonsterPower 10 (1100kv) $30 for example.

So, looks like I'll be ordering from Hobby King - but I wish I had a closer handle on the specs to shoot for (weight, amps, size - at least we know 1000 KV). Suggestions welcome.

I'm pretty sure this motor is similar to the 2814, in stock and close to home.

I think a 3530 would be a little small for this plane. A 3536 is probably closer to original.

I dearly love my Swift with the Power 10. True - the motor costs as much as the plane - but the motor should last to fly other planes after the Swift is gone - probably another Swift - I really like this airplane

The AT2814 is made by Tiger Motor AT2814 Motor Link. They're actually similar in specs to the Suppo 2814/8 which are GREAT motors at a lower cost. I sell them on my site with $2 shipping Suppo 2814/8 on www.rcplanebuilder.com.. Suppo motors have been around for a long time and have a great reputation for value.

Please let me know how it goes with your order with NP. After all those bad things i heard about their lack of customer service, i'm not sure whether it's worth a try

The camera was on my head while I was flying, but we got a lot of footage of my son flying the Techone Yak 54...not sure why he wasn't doing torque rolls today, but he's still flying pretty good.
