Here's my take on cheap, reliable, flexible and strong landing gear.
3" (75mm) plastic downpipe, cut a ring about 12mm (1/2") wide, heat one edge with a heat gun and flatten it off a bit, make 3 other identical, cable tie to quadcopter frame.
Because they are a solid ring, they absorb a heap of shock plus they are light and small enough to not catch too much wind.

Looking for cheap and found FREE
I was looking for some large, wide ty-wraps to use as loops as I saw on this thread a few pages back for a PVC A tail I'm building. I went to Lowes and they didn't have anything large enough, but, one of the floor guys helped me find this in the trash! It is strapping that they use in the lumber dept. for the boards. They throw it away! A heat gun teases it into a circle. I made mine 9" long for about a 3" diameter. 3/4" lap roughed up with sand paper and thin zapped into a circle.
I'm going to screw them to the arms with PVC caps over the splices.
