Mini EDF Recommendation wanted

I fly lots of RC stuff and have for 30 years.

These days, I have succumbed to the 250 quadcopter racing disease.

I also fly a Horizon Hobby/Park Zone Mosquito (not the tiny one), and a few other prop foamies.

I have never flown an EDF Jet, but I would like to buy an inexpensive mini EDF.

Obviously, the UMX Habu 180 is the default choice. HH has been good to me and my PZ Mosquito has been basically trouble-free.

A guy we fly with literally has a bucket full of the little Habu's (in various condition conditions). I have watched him fly one, and I am impressed.

It is the obvious default choice.

But what else can you recommend?

Desired specs:

True 3/4 channel -- no elevons, and especially no ailerons that both go up. I.e. no linked ailerons /elevators. Rudders/NWS optional.

I would prefer something that at least has the option of wheels or hand launch, but hand launch only is OK.

I would prefer an all-moving horizontal stab; especially if the real aircraft has it.

Scale or semi scale of a contemporary fighter preferred.

3S 1300 lipo, or similar.

Plug and fly with a LemonRX feather lite. Gyro is nice, but not required.

$100 range PNF. (Not including the cost of the Lipo and RX)

It looks to me like the Hobby King F-4 phantom meets the requirements (except, perhaps "contemporary ").

But is there anything else (better)?

I hadnt flown planes in awhile mostly helis. My wife got me the UMX Habu for christmas. It was my first time flying an edf and it went off with no troubles what so ever. I flew it every chance I got and love it. There is also a thread on here with lots of Mods you can do later on with it if you want. I wanted an F-4 edf too and everyone that has flown one from different manufacturers has said that airframe can be tricky so I am building up time before getting that one.

I don't think you can compare the F4 and Habu.
Habu is 1/50th of it's weight, fan size is very different. F4 doesn't have AS3X (not saying you need one but I consider it as quite a difference).

I think you answered your own question, really

Yeah, as I mentioned that is kinda the default option.

Here is another one I saw:

Meets the requirement for all-moving stab, and cost :

Perhaps it would be possible to install separate aileron servos.

I am not sure if the extra weight of 2 servos would defeat any benefits.

Or I could just fix the ailerons flat as one commenter states. That would also eliminate the weight of some linkage.

Its tough to find information on that model because it does not seem to have a name or manufacturer. Hobbyking
