Overview

The E-flite® Mystique™ RES 2.9 m ARF sailplane is inspired by the popular full-house Mystique 2.9 m except it has been specially modified to provide exquisite performance with only rudder, elevator and spoiler guidance controls.

Its large wingspan is built with just the right amount of polyhedral to provide gentle flight characteristics yet still have the authority to turn abruptly into a thermal the instant it’s sensed. The Selig S3021 airfoil used provides excellent handling over a wide speed range, plus the all-wood open-wing construction keeps weight to a minimum so you can take advantage of even the smallest amount of lift. Built-in spoilers offer the ability to dump lift without a gain in airspeed so you have control to escape a thermal and perform spot landings with greater precision. The contour of the molded fiberglass fuselage is sleek yet provides ample room for its pushrods to run internally and still have room for a powerful Li-Po motor battery.

I really like the Rudder Elevator Spoiler design along with the great looking airframe with good size.

The Horizon web page completion kit it shows a 1250kv motor EFLM4025C. I cannot find the EFLM4025C in searching. I found a 1250kv EFLM4025B pylon motor. A 1250kv motor on 3s with the big folding 14x8 prop seems it could be too much for the motor. Horizon does sell a EFLM4025H heli motor that has a 1000kv. The manual shows a EFLM4025C 1000kv motor. Could you clear up the motor confusion please?

The Mystique 2.9m ARF completion kit lists the EFLM4025A 870KV with the same prop.

Yeah... that's gotta be a typo. A 52 equivalent (if there is such a thing ) would be ridiculously serious overkill on a 5 lb sailplane. As has been pointed out elsewhere, the specs are totally messed up.

The most funny part about this sailplane is the manual. It tells you where to set the CG behind the fuel tank I was speechless the first time I saw it.

It's not a typo. The site categorizes motor sizes into ranges, 25-52 being one such range. If you look higher in the specs the motor size is listed as Power 25. A couple of specs are off, they're not 'totally messed up'. Yes we offer a Power 52.

On which page did you see the fuel tank reference?

I just noticed this is for the REF version. The other Mystique has the fuel tank reference. I don't own the ARF, a club member brought his out for final setup and when I was going through his manual I saw the mistake. It was pretty funny.
