Obama is the perfect president to lead America into its decline, it's as if he was custom made for the job. But I don't blame obama, Bush had eight years to make meaningful changes to protect America and did not.

You must have weak arms. Better stick with a long rifle that has a large shoulder pad and a small caliber.

That's exactly what the crotchety conservatives of the time said about FDR.

America has changed and I believe FDR would agree today.

They'll trumpet intentions as important as the results promised but not achieved, and the existence of programs in place of results never achieved, and still blame that which they haven't screwed up enough yet.

All the result of implementing an inverted morality based on irrational ideas force fit into a world where doing so yields failure and harm.

And exactly what they were correct about. The bankrupt SSEC fiasco, the disaster of beginning the distortions of medical markets brought about by the wage and price control distortions during WWII, slow destruction is still due to planting it's seeds, and it's no less destructive merely because it takes a while.

A large chunk of the problems we face today are the direct result of that American grown fascist

They'll never admit it. They can't explain the contradictions because there is no non contradictory way to do so. Take the idea that inability creates a right to resources trumping that of those who create them. Or the fact that it's held to be selfish to keep resources but unselfish to take them

What upsets me the most is America up until recently was a shining star of capitalism amongst a sea of depressing communism and socialism. But now it looks like we're joining the rest of the world, depressing.

Exactly. And yet the libs hold up FDR as some sort of role model. He was one of the bigger reasons we are now in the mess we are in. A forefather to American decline and socialistic policies. Of course it didn't start with him, but he took it off the back burner and added a turbo booster to it.

The other lib god JFK would be a republican if he was alive today. That shows just how far left we have gone.

Socialists are always perfect for implementing the decline of a non servient population. Look at Europe, where the cost, power, and reach of the welfare states is justified because it's what it takes to support the welfare state, which is necessary due to the effects of the welfare state.

We hear about the 'investments' in all these things which will have these fabulous results.....When do the results actually arrive?

When do the lists of those on the dole drop to a small fraction of the population? When does the unemployment rate plummet to 5% or less? When do the vast majority of the population get *off* assistance instead of onto it? When do the poverty fighting programs finally begin to work, and eliminate poverty, instead of merely subsidizing it?

His attempted State run cartelization of all of American industry is all that didn't make it. Most of the rest did. He still won the accolades of European fascists for his expansion of State control. He oversaw the violation and disruption of free speech rights, He even, like other fascists, singled out a racial group as a public enemy of the State and forced them into camps. The parallels are numerous and if you're not blinded by stars and stripes hero worship trumping the rational evaluation of point by point characteristics and actions of this man, the obvious conclusion is readily apparent.

Didn't FDR defeat socialists/fascists?

I'd say his results were fabulous, but in the last decade the neocons decided to save the free market system, by abandoning free market principles.

My father served in the Pacific in WW2 and was on a miserable island when Roosevelt died and always told me how some people cried but how glad he was when he heard the news. He hated Roosevelt and what he did to the country and never let anyone not know it! LOL!
