Don't I need the brass to hold it all in place till the elevators all glued up??
I have not built this type of tail before.
I am muddling through.
I will admit the tail part scares me.
But I don't think I used it on the cobra. But it was all one pice by the time it went on.

I saw Toms and he had a brass tube.

Thanks guys. The checkers actually came out a lot better than I thought. I had some bleed through spots though. Do I dare try to clean them with solvent, or scrape it, or just make friends with them? Trim tape? I was thinking of a 1/8" silver stripe behind the spinner, and a bigger one around the canopy to make it look like a frame. Under the L/E of the stab is smudged, maybe a 3/8"silver stripe tapering to nothing at the wing fillet? Suggestions welcome.
Tom

I actually unbent my elevator linkage after it was soldered up and added those brass tubes. then re-bent the angles to fit in my already hinged and drilled elevator halves. (full disclosure, since I'm fessing up here!) DOH!
Sorry to lead you astray Rubio.

Rubio, Leave the brass tubes. But you don't really need them on future builds on these little planes.

Tom, make friends with you runs unless they are really bad. Trim tape might look ok, but it has a nasty habit of pealing off unless you clear coat over it.

Thank You Brian,

I thought they were used to hold it in place till the elevators were on.
