Got her out again today and she flew quite nicely considering its stock.

You have proven to take things discussed on RCG with some critical thinking. If you read this thread it would make you believe you need all kinds of mods. Great job once again. Totally cool looking jet.

Sounds like you're a believer now

So it wasn't all smoke and mirrors when Pete first demo'ed the plane at BH

In the long run though I'm expecting a spectacular failure of the landing gear. At least I have skids...

Granted, I think Pete did soup his up slightly to improve vertical performance and prevent the wings from ripping off while transitioning to a flat spin.

Still flying mine all stock for over 2 years now. I epoxied the wings on after sanding the paint off where the epoxy was to be applied. I run a 6S 4000mAh battery for 3.5 minutes. I do cobras, flat spins, flips, high alpha. That reminds me, I do have one mod. Those ball links are exposed to the ground on high alpha landings and I've broken a couple getting a little overzealous on the nose high landings. LOL so I added 1 large control surface horn next to each servo back there to protect them and problem solved.

You are the exception as we discussed before! Its a personal choice to mod or not mod.

Put on a third flight today. I swear I'm going to get Putin's attention with the way I'm flying this girl!

3rd flight of the Fulcrum (3 min 8 sec)

So here are some observations from flying the MiG stock:
-The annoying issue is the vectored thrust nozzles rob the plane of power, but it's a known issue.
-It also is scale in these ways:
Short 'range' like the real MiG, 2:30 minute flight times
If the throttles are left at 100% for too long, something will go like on the real MiG
Quite rugged and flies well
Can't throttle up too quickly or there'll be issues with the power system
Reliable landing gear (so far...)
Needs a 'chute like the real MiG
And.... A true pilot's airplane
Hopefully I'll be able to fly it next Sunday.

I don't understand the issues you are raising regarding the thrust nozzles. Are you saying due to the larger pressure drop across (i.e. not straight tube, rather expansion then contraction) it reduces the Power? If so, yes, that's is a known issue.

What do you mean if the throttle is left at 100% for too long, something will go? That is why people swap out the LX electronics since they are usually junk.

I am surprised at the landing gear being reliable. It was anything but reliable for me.

True pilots airplane. Yes.... love this bird

He did say "flying the MiG stock" - hence the included electronics.

If I'm correct about the nozzles, due to ball joint leading to an expansion and then the ridge formed where it goes down to a nozzle again it robs power. I may not be explaining it correctly...
As for full throttle, I was advised against running her at full throttle for more than a minute or else there would be the signature MiG contrail showing up while flying...
