From hobby people...

Hi,

The Squall kit version has not been discontinued yet; however, we currently do not have a planned re-stock date.

Thank you,

-Tom

Sounds like they may be discontinued.

Glad I was able to purchase an air frame. I have one back up as well. Love that plane!

Just re-maidened my SQUALL!! After shedding the original blades i got a ChangeSun 11 blader driven by a 28-36 Propdrive 3000KV motor.. on 3cell

I was a little worried about the combo but was pleasantly surprised! She is as solid as ever and will maintain decent flight on half throttle! Ballistic at full throttle!

Picked up a crashed squall with all the guts and a NIB kit with thrust vectoring at Lebanon over the weekend. Now have to get some learning done on what it's capabilities are and what mods I should look at.

I'll do some digging in this thread, but I wonder how badly overpowered putting a 70mm veloticy RC fan and motor running on 6s would be?

Has anyone successfully mounted fixed landing gear on the Squall?? I am now flying off a paved runway and would like to land on it.

My attempt at landing gear failed. It will also most likely add too much drag and cause bad flight characteristics.

I've got a second Squall NIB sitting on the shelf. Hopefully I'll have time someday to get it in the air. These foamies are great, escpecially with the vector thrust unit.

BrownEyedFool, a Squall can never be too overpowered! See this thread from a few years back: http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1167614

I haven't seen landing gear, but I imagine you could glue on some mounting plates and insert fixed gear without too much issue. Alternative: I suggest going with a skid pad on the bottom of the intake. You can pick one up in the RC truck section of your local hobby shop. Here are a few links.

So this might be an interesting combo to put in it? http://www.velocity-rc.com/cgi-bin/v...on=show&pid=81

Though I don't want to do a major amount of glassing, I have no experience with that.
