Wow... lots of new stuff on this thread since I last visited. That ASTEC 23920 project tbird is working up is flippin' SCARY; enough juice to weld 1/4" plate.

However, I find myself in need of a power supply to replaced my beloved HP DPS-1200W; I've got two Turnigy Reaktor 300Wx2 I need to feed, and it's ALMOST enough to feed ONE.

As luck would have it; I sought out a 24V PSU on fleaBay and found THIS:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/141268154108

Made a $35 Offer and now it's on its way to me. I figure starting out with brand-new is always nice; these chargers are designed for 12-32VIN, with full rated output at 18VIN, so 24VIN should be good and efficient.

So... anybody seen this PSU before? Is there any existing Hackery knowledge out there, or am I trailblazing here again?

Also... anybody recognize the socket on the tail of this beast?

Thanks,

mnem

DELTA EDPS-190AB and Qaulity components DCJ2902 pinouts

These are found in newer Cisco Switches - different wattages, but same pinout.

Banggood are selling ' Switching Power Supply 170-250V To 24V 25A 600W For LED Strip'£41 OR Switching Power Supply 110/220V To 24V 20A 480W For LED Strip Light£26.

Would switching supply be OK for balance chargers?. They both have an adjustable V out put also.

DPS-1520AB problem under heavy load

Hi,

Maybe someone can help me. who uses the DPS-1520AB.
I searched and read a lot about the topic, but could not find the exact solution for that type of PSU.
I can turn it on by connecting A1-B1, but under heavy load (>1000W) the PSU shuts down. I measured the 12V voltage and it is rock solid 12.25V until it shuts off after 5-30 seconds of heavy load.
I assume some other pins need to be connected too. 12V sense or something else? But which is that pin?

I've found a photo that someone connected also B5 and C5 together, I tried but that does not help.

I also took the PSU apart and checked the caps visually, they seem to be OK, and it is very clean inside. So I think the problem is not caused by the worn condition of the PSU.

I have two of these and both does the same.

I wonder if anyone got these working above 1000W continously.

Thank you!
