Long Range FPV Equipment

New here, so hey everyone.

I have a phantom 2 with a gopro on a h3-3d, i can get over 1km range on the standard 2.4ghz controller radio equipemnt with a panel antenna. But i cant seem to get any decent fpv range.

Have tried 5.8ghz using a immersionrc 700mw tx and a black pearl monitor with built in 5.8 rx but can only get around 400m range with this.

Tried 900mhz 1000mw tx with a standard rx and get about 800m range with this: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/281395021979

Tried 1.2ghz 700mw tx with a standard rx and get about 600m range with this: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/390895190943

Have tried all the above with both rubber duck antennas and clover leaf antennas but it's not that much better with either.

But i keep reading on here that people get over 2km range with a 200mw systems etc. So whats the best rx/tx/antennas to get this sort of range?

Thanks in advanced for any help.

Good antennas will make a world of difference. I have gotten 3,500' with a 200 Mw 5.8 gHz using a IBCrazy Clover leaf and a skewplanner wheel on the base station. With a 400 Mw 1.3 using IBCrazy over a mile. Some of the "cheap" antennas perform poorly. Better to purchase from companies that cater to FPV like RMRC.

Something must be wrong. I have a 500mw transmitter and with the stock rubber duckies it came with, no special filtering or anything, I can get around 2 km.

Which transmitter and receiver are you using?
