With the airframe having red stripes, I think those red engine heads are going to be a nice touch when viewing from the front. I have the wings all mounted, tomorrow I plan on drilling the bolt and blindnut holes. Once the struts are done and bolted I can finish the cabane. Then move on to the forward fuse panels.

I bet!

Something flexible from the exhaust (after the muffler) leading to something mounted on the firewall maybe?

Then again, is stifling back-pressure a concern?

Ok, well, I took that mess off. I found some aluminum tube the same size so I will wait for that. Finding the tube was a two day affair, two day's of not finding any. Then I sat down here and typed in 18mm aluminum tube, and Voila. And I be darned if the first place to pop up is a place I already buy from just never thought of them, Chiefaircraft and only 8 bucks for a stick.
EJ, Buying a piece of aluminum I can make a better radius than seen above. So I don't think back pressure will be a problem or at least I hope.

I didn't see a noticeable rpm decrease until I added about 20 " of pipe on the Q-50.I made sure the new pipe fit OVER the existing one though.
And then I don't think it was back pressure as much as reverse 'tuning'.

Racers use tuned pipes to increase power/rpms...They need to be adjusted to an optimum length for a certain range. If the sound waves are adjusted improperly, they won't encourage exhaust flow, but stifle it=reverse tuning..

Don't sweat the extra pipe you're adding...It's cool !

The exhaust is on hold, waiting for some pipe. And the cowl mount is on hold, waiting for some magnets. Still waiting for the cable supplies for the rudder hook-up. Oh yea, still waiting for the panel.
So I guess I'll work on the fuse panels next.
