False negative feedback

Is there a way to contest negative feedback left by another user? I had one left today on a deal I backed out of and even informed the user

He sold the item to the next person and then left me negative feedback.

What options do I have? It's the only negative I have.

make sure you note that the transaction was never completed. The mods won't change feedback on a completed transaction (absent obscenities etc) as that is between the buyer and seller, but they will delete feedback for transactions that did not occur.

How do I contact the mods / get started on getting it removed? I'm still pretty new to the forum and haven't had to look into this until now.

Thank you everybody for the help.

Sounds like you deserved it. Backing out of a deal isn't right

Sorry I just had to comment.

This discussion has been going on for years in the Trader Talk.

Of course its not recommended, the buyer can do ANYTHING before the money is exchanged.

He did not "deserve" the negative. It would be like going to jail for something you didn't do.

He didn't keep his word. Man like that is to be avoided. Good to let prospective sellers know this so they don't waste their time with him.

The person you are referring to has a trader rating of 17. That of the seller has one of 0.

And you know why he backed out, how?

Not keeping my word would be if I didn't reply or do anything at all. That's not the case, I informed the seller quickly that I was no longer interested, and even deleted my "ill take it" post from his thread so others knew it was till available. Which he sold to the next person rather quickly.

I don't "back out" of deals once I agree to pay. Look at my trader feedback. I never once agreed on a final price or deal with this guy.

I've gone to above and beyond to give back to the RCG community, look at my give away page for an example.

You are under no obligation to purchase something, and if you decide to back out...that's your business. There are plenty of others who will want it. I've sold tens of thousands of dollars worth of astronomy equipment on other sites -- when the buyer backs out, that's disappointing, but it's not the end of the world...don't be such a snob about it.
