yes... its a 6mm depron "plank" to keep things simple!

dont be put off by that... honest it flies way better than you would expect..
with a very wide and forgiving flight envelope, has a really soft stall with no tendancy to tip stall

extra former can be seen in this photo..

took my two to the club field for the first time today, it was really windy and nobody wanted to fly... till i let them all have a go with the wot nexts... they were all impressed how well they flew on such a windy afternoon

now they all want one!

Did notice the extra former in earlier pictures, thought it was to aid keeping fuselage in shape whilst marking out top/bottom skins, now i know why
Also going with the Emax 2812 on 9x5 but with two cells, still should deliver 19oz of thrust, few options available;

[QUOTE=VoyagerXll;19872057]Thanks Dazza

I went back to see your rendition of the "Wot Now"...... Cool wings on yours. How does it turn with the wing you used?
I have enough problems flying when it gets towards dusk, I tend to loose orientation, so do not think flying with lights in the dark would work for me.

The emax 2822 w/ 9x5 prop gives me all the power I need. I went out this morning to fly mine but before I got coffee finished and plane ready the wind was starting to blow I flew it for about 4 minutes. It was pretty gusty and the plane was getting buffeted quite a bit so decided to land and wait for a calmer day................sure did not want to crash it so early in its life.

My nephew saw mine flying yesterday and said that he is going to build one too.

it turns surprising well put ailerons 2 thirds wing length from fuze outward best way could get enough control..
im new to the night flying had 3 flights finding it pretty easy using red n blue strip on top and green underneath orientation a lot easier..shall get a vid if i can find another looney to stand n film it in the cold..brrrrrrrr

CAD files are not necessary for this plane... go back to the start of the build log and you will see that all you have to do is cut out 7 or 8 rectangles to the dimensions given.. then trim each rectangle as instructed to make each piece.
it really is that simple.

simple answer... i dont know! why not choose something that resembles what other builders have chosen? you have all the information at your fingertips, model weight, power/esc/props etc. that have been used

If this to be a good build log like BB 33, having access to proper set of plans in PDF format is a must. Otherwise this thread will die somewhere couple of more posts down. BB 33 the immense success in that thread is that, they have all the information for anyone.

Why I want to modify this model for my motor is very simple. I have about 10 motors from that model just lying at our model flying club. There is no reason for us to bring down another set of motors as a result.

IMHO, how much has done a fine job with this build log. He's been very generous with his time answering questions and providing information. In the absence of any hard and fast rules for build logs, I'd say he's given us an exemplary effort. I'd call it more than a "good" build log, to say the least.

Ditto what potshot said.
