Maiden Reports

My Hobby King F35 EDF Maiden Easter Morning
All went well in spite of a fairly strong breeze. Tracked well down the runway. Got right up in the air with a short roll out. One click right trim. That was it. Flew great. Easy to land. Very stable airframe. 64mm proved to be plenty of power for me and is compliant with my collection of 3S batts. Not a bad looker either. I really like the steerable nose wheel. Fan is a bit out of balance so is was a bit loud. Should be a great plane for me. I could recommend this one to a friend. Jim V was there and saw the whole thing. No photos.

Nice flight it was Bill, you flew that like it was an old familiar plane for you! If the fan is easy to get out, and I could get it from you, I am sure that I can balance it out in short order (and show you how to do it too!)

Bill,

I had to leave before you put the F-35 up. Glad to hear it went well!

Due to the recent winds at the field I have been primarily flying my helicopters, which are a lot more tolerant to wind than my planes. Following my lead are several of the guys I fly with.

About two years ago my friend Dick got himself a TRex 500. He built it and was just about to bring it out for a maiden voyage when another of my flying buddies had a disaster of a maiden voyage on his TRex 600. The carnage was enough to scare Dick off a little from his flight. Two years later he finally decided it was time to fly his helicopter.

Dick let me do the honors I am proud to announce a successful flight on 05-02-2011.

What a way to get an ear to ear grin and belly laugh! As funky as it was, it was a blast flying that crazy contraption!

Oh, and I maidened a 50mm F-18, but that was boring compared to the Volkswaffe.

HELP!!! $25.01 later I have a gallon of glow fuel for my new [used] T-28Trojan with a Magnum .61 2C engine. (note: it is NOT a typo, I meant to type engine, not motor) 7:00 am is "start your engine time...

I bought this plane as fuel ready for $125.00 off Craigslist and the wingspan is 64". http://www.hobbypeople.net/index.php...cover-r-c.html

I don't fly 72mhz (channel 55) so I pulled the RX and Tower NiMH 4 cell AA pack and replaced them with a Spektrum 8000 and 2S 1000mah A123 RX pack.
I will install servos for the flaps that were never hooked up/used and try to connect them to channel 8 which is a rotary, not a toggle switch. If that is hard to do I will revert back to the flaps 3 position switch.

Anyhow, eventually this "may" go electric. I will only do that if I can find a new cowl as the muffler, glow plug and jet adjustment thingy required a hole to be cut into the cowl.

Rick
p.s. Paul, are you proud of me?
