Question about AutoThtottles.
They DO move under their own power when engaged correct?

So (if they do) and the pilot raised the nose and the throttles remained at idle then he had to of noticed them not moving.

Yes, the Autothrottles move (physically) the throttles so you can see them.

It all sounds like "Grasping at straws" to shed blame to something else. "The Mysterious Light" the autothrottles that didn't move", The PAPI's that were/were not on.

This has been my statement from the beginning. It looks on the video to be slow and an excessive sink rate at the very end of final. When you want to descend don't point the nose at the ground because it will build extra speed in nearly every airplane. You want to pull back and SLOW down, you will get a much greater sink rate.....if that is what you want. In a Jet liner full of passengers, I don't think that is what you want! So if the "autothrottles" were engauged it would have been a non event. They would have pulled back on the yokes the power would have increased to keep the same approach speed (134 kts) it would have extended their glide and all would be well. But if the auto-throttles were not engauged pulling back would have slowed the plane and made a steep descent rate right into the seawall. (which it did.)

Investigators on Monday said the 777-200ER was flying well below its target airspeed at the time of the crash. At 500 feet the airplane’s speed was 134 knots. The 777 slowed to a minimum airspeed of 103 knots moments before the jetliner crashed into a seawall well short of the runway.

my 2 cents.......no wait that makes 8 cents.

Yes, I was on for an hour os so and kept looking for a session. So I did some free flight to PARO. Landed the Airbus on runway 15 by hand flying it. Then tried it with the Boeing 737 and had it on autothrottles and flying with auto pilot is stalled and crashed. Hand flying is better.....
