That is awesome. I hope I can find a way to be there. Should be a blast. What is the weather like that time of year in your neck of the woods? Ryan

Temps in the upper 70s and up. And Santa Ana winds can blow like crazy.

???

All of the ODOMs I've ever seen have carbon tow in the mid section as part of the lamination.

We brought our 2 ODOMs from George in late 1997 and there is no carbon tow or hull number in either one. Since we had never built a rc sailboat before we had George put the hull together for us and then we finished the rest ourselves. So there are some ODOMs without carbon tow in them.

The black lines in the hull I owned were from a Sharpie marker no carbon, any hull found to have carbon reinforcement I would gladly have a go at him in the protest room.I have seen a photo of a rebuilt boat where the owner laid up carbon where the black lines are to reinforce the keel support, hily illegal in my eyes and not in the spirit of a OD.

Hummm, thought it was carbon, not sharpie (what would be the point of that?)-

I'll have to ask the designer/builder.

I assembled my hull/deck and at build I had a close look at it,and pretty convinced the black lines are not corbon, even if they were they are so miniscule they would do little in the way of stiffness I gave that boat to Rick/Bob Shoos years ago, opposed to the boat I saw with a complete layup of the fin area which was totally out of order.
