Build Log
Norbert Rouch DC10 edf build

This is going to be one of kind build in some ways or other. This is also part of PIA's history making project.

Model is 1/16th scale.
Length is 11.5-12 feet.
Wingspan 11 feet.
Power: Twin edf's, maybe 3.
Landing gears: Custom or from Haws in Germany.
Estimated flying weight: 30 - 3 5lbs but could increase.

Once again model will be finished in PIA's 70's or 80's livery, my preference will be 80's livery. Model will be fully functional model with lots of features on it.

Will post pictures tonight after it's in my shop. Soon will be on my way to get it.

SAM my man! we're gonna call you Mr. PIA!

Looking forward to this build. .. . . I'd go with three EDF'S rather than 2.

I'll be honoured Sir!

I prefer going with 3 edfs on this baby also, can you suggest which ones will be good for it?

(Note: this is the particular model, but not at my place, at previous owner's house few years ago.)

Subscribed! Looks like a lot of the structure is already complete. Is it just paint, plug and play at its current progress?

Oooo! She's a biggun.

As far as power, what can you fit in the nacelles? That's going to somewhat determine what you can use. Have you considered turbine(s)?

My God that 10 is a monster of an airliner!

Sam You better get a trailer in order to transport this beast!

P.S. . .. . .tell Rich to sell that oven-grown RC toy car and get back into RC planes etc!

For this plane a single turbine would be the better choice. Take-offs will be more spectaculare.
Have a look at Norbert Rauch's MD-11 which is basically a DC-10.

KLM MD-11 RC Turbine powered JET (1 min 33 sec)

Whoop whoop, thread diversion...
Lancer Evos are amazing cars, my boss has one and it is a blast to drive. We put a new clutch in it about18 months ago, nice to work on something besides a computer for a change.
Ding, back on thread...
Wow, some airliner, looking forward to this progressing. If you go EDF, this bird is prime for a sound generator with the RR RB 211 grind.
