Large Electric Concorde Roll Out

For those that may be interested, following on from the 1/6th scale A10 I have now completed the design and build of the 1/16th scale Concorde. We completed taxi trials and power runs this weekend and due to some quick off the mark pics being put on You Tube of the nose mech I thought I would post the facts rather than the fiction. Attached pics of model in primer state for initial testing, will be finished as G-BOAF the last Concorde to be built and also land at Bristol Filton Airport.

Length 4.5M
Span 2M
Weight 14kg
Motors Lehner 2530.13
EDF Daniels DS94s matched for the model
Controllers SPIN99 with rpm balance software
Static Thrust 12.5 lbs each
Battery 10S Evo Flight Power Lipos
Max current set at 85 Amps
2 Ailerons, 2 Elevons and 2 Elevators
Gyro on roll axis
Weatronics 12-16R dual receiver system (24 servos)
2 3200mAH lipo Servo batteries

Will add pics of flight schedule and final fit out/colour scheme when done over the next two weeks.

Beautiful job! The landing gear looks interesting. I'd love to see a video of the retract sequence.

Steve - sent you a pm. Thanks for the interest here are some of the answers to your questions.
The retract system is true scale and uses 8 servos through the Weatronic receiver unit which incorporates a software programmable sequencer, will get video done at next flight test. 2 DS94S used with scale inlets and outlets so it looks as if there are 4 engines. The nose system was put onto youtube by somebody last weekend and here is the link http://www.youtube.com/resultssearch_type=&search_query=model+concorde+no se+movement&aq=f .
Has anybody else done the Concorde, although I have the full size data I would be interested in any observations re the c of g which was very difficult to get right, as it is not a conventional calculation due to the wing shape. |It is 53% of overall length.

Hopefully, there won't be a tire blowout.

Did you know that on the real Concorde, the distribution of fuel along the aircraft was shifted during acceleration and deceleration to move the centre of gravity? Food for thought...
