Hi Mario, Hahn,

Thanks for your help. In the mean time, I've got a PDF version from Reichard.

Hi all,

For who are interested, I took some picture of the assembly steps.

The fuse is mainly done. I still have to find a locking system for the 2 canopy.
If one of you have a good idea, I will appreciate.

Next step for me will be the wings.....

Some more pictures will follow.

Regards,

Alain

Wow Alain, you work fast! Thanks for posting these build pics. I'm just getting ready to start mine and it will be a big help.

Are you concerned about the dark tinted canopies in the sun? I had tried this last year on another model and it got so hot that it deformed the canopy. I hope you have better luck than I did.

Keep those great build pics coming - this is great!

Hi Solo,

Yes, you've right regarding the overheating of the canopy.
Thanks to KiwiKid for the recommandation. I will take a look.

I've ordered a roller of "air bubble aluminum foil" in order to do my own bags. I will take care to cover the canopy at the time the glider is not flying.

25 meters for 28 euros ->

PS : I'm still searching a good solution to lock the canopy ?!

Alain

Hi Alain:

I was quite shocked at how fast the sun heated up the canopy. It only takes a minute or two to get it too hot. I am hoping your solution works well for you.

What is that power distribution unit in the pictures you posted? It has the 'Hott' logo on it, but I cannot find it on Graupner's site. I would be interested to know what the model number is and where I can find it. Thanks.

Hi Solo,

I've placed a "Hott" sticker, but in fact, it's not a Graupner product, but a device form www.RCCSKJ.com

Main features are
- dual alimentation
- the power for the servo does not go trough the receiver
- UBEC (only on the yellow box, not the red)
- 5v regulation for the receiver
- 9 channel (18 outputs)
- LCD screen and alarms
- independant ignition for airplanes
-.....

Prix : approx 88$ (I bought it in Switzerland. Where are you from?)

Very good explanation in this video :
POWER BOX - RC Plane - how to set up and install in your plane (12 min 34 sec)

Between red, yellow and black, my recommendation is the yellow one.

Thanks Alain, I will check that out.

As for canopy latches, rare earth magnets work very well to hold things in place. For a canopy this size you may need three or four sets across the open side. Looking forward to more pics.

Hi,

I've done the very first flight yesterday. It went well!!
The wind was quite strong, but stable. This Fox was easy to fly even with this strong wind.

A movie done by a friend here (thx to him) :

Hi alainr congratulations on your maiden, nice flying.
What model Swift was that it stole the show for me, what a sound and man did it move on step not that the Fox didn't but that Swift just performed.
Again nice work and flight of your Fox.

First towing session yesterday.

I've been pulled by a Bidule 111 up to 750 meters over the track.

The vid ->

Long Fox Pinocchio (3 min 0 sec)

I've got 2 issues when flying fast. First, the rudder started to vibrate (see second video). I've also noticed that the air-breaks went a bit out of position when flying fast then, they come back to the normal position.

Long Fox Reichard - fluttage (0 min 53 sec)
