GoPro Hero 3 record video and output video for FPV same time
I can't seem to find a straight answer as search these threads, but is it possible to record video on the GoPro's sd card and output a live video feed for fpv? I have a Hero 3 and a couple different usb cables (readymaderc and random generic), but so far I haven't been able to accomplish this. I could have sworn I did it once before, but lately no. I can get a live feed stream from the gopro, but the moment I press record it stops after a few seconds.. Any info?? Thanks!

1. There is a multi hundred page thread about the gopro 3 and features including the recording while live feed, just as the hero 2 did.
2. Yes it does both. |

Thanks for your reply!
 Can you point me to something specific? I know I've gotten it to work before, but I'm not sure if something is wrong with my gopro or my settings aren't correct OR perhaps the sequence in which I power on/plug in/press record is not correct. Quote:

The gopro seems to lock up after a few seconds when I press record. I'm using cables from readymaderc- the one with servo plugs and the immersionrc plug...

Sounds like a defect the camera or the connector. There's no "trick" to using
the A/V out. You just plug it in, and use it. |

Mine also locked up after recording for a few seconds.
Figured out that when plugging it into my Mac that it created a trashes folder and that was getting filled up. And if using a Mac you also have to empty the trash from the trash folder otherwise the deleted files stay on your SD card. At least that's what my issue was. |

Interesting!! I also use a Mac... Where/What is the folder called that needs to be deleted/emptied on the SD card?

I'm using a gopro hero 2.
My gopro won't record sound when the a/v cable is plugged in to it. It does record perfect video and when I use the live tv out I get picture and sound(tested in my living room). It just don't record sound to the SD card for some reason. Mike |
