Dumas Red Lion

So far 30.5 grams. I went ahead and made a plug and pulled a real cowl. To be powered by the new RimFire 200.

current state

I was over at Dave's house last weekend and saw the current state of this model. He has it covered with lots of detail on it. It looks great. Not painted yet so you can see how all the detail that will be more subtle once painted. Maybe we can get him to post some more pictures if we ask nice. How about it Dave?

I will take some pictures. It is almost ready for paint. I have vacuum formed a full cowl and have "metal" panels where apropriate and of course they are riveted in place.

Nice gear,

Looks like I am going to have to come over to your house with my camera and take some pictures of my own and post them. Really nice work Dave.

Wow, looks pretty sweet! Couple of questions for you:

1. What is that covering?
2. Looks like you are using sewn hinges, is that what they are or something else?
3. What type of plastic are you using? Is it just styrene sheet? If so, what thickness?

Thanks for posting.

The hinges are .020 carbon through 1/64"plywood pins (see Semeraro's Pup thread). The covering is the domestic tissue that came with the kit. The only plastic is the wheel pants which came with the kit and the cowl which I pulled from .020 ABS. The rest of the "metal" is paper panels and the rivets are RC 56 Canopy glue.
