LFI S-21 Russian Light Fighter to complement the PAK FA T-50

Alright I'm not sure where I pulled this schematic from, but I have a 55mm fan, motor and esc that will work for this. My plan is to make a model of this with an estimated wing span of 23" - 24". I believe I pulled this from a thread sometime around when the Russian Pak T 50 hit the news. Anybody know for sure what this is let me know. Is it Russian or some other country? As of now my paint scheme in mind is the Russian winter snow camo scheme since I have the paint colors on hand. (Black, White, Gray)

Like I said I have all the supplies sitting here and decided to attempt this build. Here is what I have done so far.

Found the new schematic at the following link:http://forum.keypublishing.com/showthread.php?t=100029

Well, when I put the schematic into photoshop for aligning the 3 views to confirm the lines my front view looks slightly different from what is showing on the original schematic. Did some more work on the project.

Hello VideoPro.
The T-50 is the Russian version of the US F-22 class twin engined fighter. The drawing that you are building from would be in the same class as the F-35.

LFI S-21 is what it has been called on the military aviation sites....among other things It is not an official concept....so they say, but "what if" drawings.

Anyway great start on your project!

Thanks to Kevin Cox for the info about what this is. I did a search online and found out that this just may be the Russians light fighter concept to complement the PAK FA T-50. Although there are reports that the Mig 35 may fill this role for now.

I wish I found this schematic before I added my panel lines. I may just need to build a larger 90mm version of this with retracts. To me it looks like a F-16 with a look of the F-35.

Thanks Phil,

I wonder if this is really in the works. I have noticed changes to the schematic drawing with more details added to it as well. I do like the second drawing better. Yes, it does have the hints of the Mig 29.

Thanks guys!

Here are some more progress photo's. Painting is complete unless I need to do touch up. Most likely will after I glue on the verticals. Some of the markings are glued on. Still need to add a number to the fuselage and other small markings. I decided to use the former roundel insigna although I see the PAK FA only has the outside line of the star and not the inner solid star. This will stand out for better visual. In the process of cutting the ailerons and elevators. will be ready soon for a maiden flight.

I need to build a mock up toss dummy for finding the CG.

Thanks Kevin,

It is turning out better than I thought. Buidling my 64mm EDF scratch F-22 has taught me a lot with using the dollar tree foamboard. That has made this build so much easier for me. For my next project, I have on the drawing board a twin 90mm F-22 with a wing span of 55". Already started to get the parts for it.
