Yep, I would consider it a harrier roll.

Your elevator timing looks ok, but I think your rudder is off a little which is why the tail wobbles around.

Definately a hard manuever to get really clean but it looks like a great start so far!

wow, been trying this a loooooong time. Something just clicked the other day. Hopefully I can get a day off work when the wind is down soon. I'd like to try this on a 3dhs or PA

eh we'll see how it goes on the real deal. I don't put much faith in these here simulators. Hopefully I'm just being negative. Nerves kick in in RL though, big factor....

Yup - do it a couple of mistakes high and drop the height when you have it nailed...

I can do it on and off - I once did a perfect circle....and it was like I was in Zen heaven....just wish I could replicate it all the time I tend to get the speed right the rolls working and all of the sudden its falling out....*Sigh*

same here on the sim. Takes a few times for me to dial it in. i don't think I've tried it yet on real planes.

It will come as they say with practice - my real life efforts mirror the sim...so least I am consistent at my Harrier roll suckiness...lol

I think the sim is invaluble as you get the muscle memory of a move down, to the point you dont have to "think" about your stick movements, you just "know" what to do. Then you practice and real life and adjust to your planes flavor. That method has taught me to fly and get into 3d pretty quickly

don't forget to practice it both directions - work on the weakest side more!

I practice on the flight simulator, then a foamy, then the giant scale gas plane.

Next step after sim would be an EPP plane, saves a lot on balsa. This way you can do it close in so you can see what your doing more clearly. Plus you can afford to bang it into the ground over and over.
