For anybody thats interested the plans are available from;
http://www.frankrusselldesign.com/index.htm They're built from flat carbon panels. Panels are taped and epoxy filleted together. Quite simple for one boat, but if I was to do it again I'd probably build a plywood plug and layup carbon over it. I made my own keel and rudder molds. They were intended to be 'cheapies'. I've used mast/gooseneck stubs (one set up for all rigs) to save money. Plans come with a raised fore deck but to keep it simple I used flat decks. All up with 3 rigs (sails from Housemartin - England) RMG winches etc they have cost around $1000 each. Should be good fun sailing them - Australian Nationals in January 2013 |

That's a great price! Consider additionally, that an RMG is roughly $250, that's a quarter of the build-price just in the winch! So, $750 for the boat, and 3-rigs Do let us know how you make out in the Nationals! |

Check out the latest from kiwi land M sailing here. Not a bad turn out 19 boats. Attrition level was high due to the strong wind. Started out B then went to C rigs by the final two races Was still a great days sailing
