Holding event offsite from Flying field
Not sure this is the correct forum but couldn't find a more suitable home.
Question - We are an AMA club with a certified field but have been asked to put on an airshow during a weekend event at a small town about an hour away. They have Hot air balloon launches in the morning, carnival type stuff for kids, helicopter rides etc..
It is at a large high school and they want to have an RC demonstration. Now we could setup a booth, discuss RC, have some models on hand but they want us to fly. Being not at our field I wonder about liability and such.
Has anyone looked into anything like this before?

AMA will cover each AMA member even if it is not at a club field. Make sure you have a safety line and an open flying area. Demonstration is different than you flying all day there.

Liability around children can be more than you would expect. The club I used to go to did demonstrations at schools. They never had a problem. They took it seriously, and only let the good pilots fly.
