with your 22 on good ground, and your battery in.
how flexible are your elevons? i had a dodgy hinge, which caused me to run alot of reflex, more so on 1 elevon than the other. upon investigation, i found my SB elevon to be floppy. it was only evident with the battery in, as i was able to stress out the joint, and the lines without moving the servo.

So far -
Moved to Pull for UP - (lines are ontop of the fuse)
Blanked prop hole, (More noise - need to check flight characteristics)
Next is to check what moving the motor alignment to perfect centre line will do.
She is getting old now, and i want to do a few more experiments, once i think its perfect, then i will rebuild a new FT-22 with my modifications built in
She flies fantastic at this stage, so much speed, and authority in the air, at full whack, she will go vertical, and hang her tail out - she is however VERY LOUD......... which is great, so many people come over and ask if it is a real jet, but i do tell them, no. they just dont believe me lol.

Had the Re-Maiden of my FT-22 today, after much work, she is now prob the best i could ever get her.
Mods include -
closing up the prop slot
re-siting the servos in an upright position,
running the control lines on-top of the wing,
Proper hinges on the elevons,
6x4 apc style prop,
What these mods have done -
Closing up the prop slot,
first noticeable difference is noise. It is LOUD...... 2nd is it is now more responsive at low rpm, as more airflow/wing area. This allows smoother airflow over the upper and lower wing surface, increasing the effect of the elevons.
Re-siting the servos,
This along with the lines above the wing, allow me to run a Pull for UP, so the line is taught when applying up elevon, this gives you more authority at high speed,
These allow for a very stiff hinge that will not fade. With the paper hinges they tend to go soft very quickly, which will lead to improper actuation of the elevons.
I am 100% confident these hinges will out live the plane.

without a proper measure of speed, i can only gestimate. and i guestimate (cross between a guess and an estimate) her to be hitting around 80mph. hence why these mods have come about. In the need for speed i have inadvertently pulled her weakness out.
I will try to get my friend to video her next time she is out, but on a 1300mah 3s i can have a 10min fight at approx 50% throttle, or a 4-5min flight at WOT...
I can without a doubt say, that on low rates, (70/30) she is quite agile, and a great flier. On high rates (100/30) she spins quicker than a washing machine on spin cycle, and will drag her arse right out on heavy up elevon application. All in all she is an intermediate to advanced flier.
But on low rates she is an easy intermediate flier, perfect for the next step.
