How/why did they crash? What are the problems with crunchie planks?

They might crunch..

I think planks in general usually have a somewhat higher crash rate than conventional planes.
Especially if it's "flying fast and low" fun factor is high, which it probably usually is.
Also the landing have a tendency to become rather fast and bumpy.
The results of a crash or a hard landing are often different on a foamy than on a crunchie though.

Short moment, so the CG is super critical, And so critical it may even be difficult to measure.
they need really good servos so you can have small elevator throws, of as little as 1mm and yet still have 7 to 10 on ailerons.

But I think the Ozies and splinters have proven that they can be fast at ds, but I am sure there I allot of tuning to get it perfect.

notice all the ozie planks seem to have the fin further back than most.

I think it's due to some sort of optical distortion from the photos taken at that latitude. Even their rats look huge when photographed.

I know that the "Motor Head" Zipper crashed due to a sudden stop in midair. I still haven't forgiven him for killing my Mini blade on its maiden .
