Motor for Hobbyking YAK 54 EPP
I am interested in buying this plane:
How is this Motor+Prop combination (30A ESC)?:
Also, do I have to get servo extension wires?

That motor needs a 40A ESC. Aside from that it should work fine. You will probably need 2 4" extensions since the tail servos are mounted at the back.

I think that HK 40a recommendation is a misprint? The motors max amperage is 21a, making a 30a ESC more than adequate?
I have the 42" version of this plane and it requires 18" extensions. Thinking 4" may not be enough, but not sure of specifics.
I think your setup looks good, other than maybe the prop? If you look at some of the reviews, they don't think much of them. Check out the "APC style". I've had really good luck with those.

+1 on what Ahicks said. You should be ok with (2) 8" or 12" extensions.
However, the motor is only 50 grams and I think that when you factor in efficiency, you will not really get the 200 watts that is listed.
I have had several planes in the 36" wing span size range and have found that for excellent 3d power you should have a 450 size brushless motor turning a 10 x 4.7 apc slow flyer prop.
