Old Sparkies mix

Hi All,
what do you think about the use of glow mix 75 Methanol 25 Castor oil ( no nitro ) for old original Spark engine, like Ohlsson, Fleetwind, OK Super 60 ect.., with original timer, points, coil and condenser? The power is the same or lower than gasoline mix?
I have some problems to get the right mineral oil 70W, and I don't know if the modern synthetic oils are the right option for these old and beautiful engines.
Thank you, ciao a tutti
Ernesto
