If I recall the old style servos had two boards in the servo case, the later ones only have one circuit board.
There is a thread over on Helifreak about this.

Can you post the link for that Helifreak thread?

Thanks! That was really interesting.

Incidentally, does anybody make a cable adapter that would let me test the DS76T with the 130X without having to splice and solder connectors? I'd like to test it first before going into make a custom cable.

I see you talking about gears what combination of plastic and metal seams to work out best.
I just picked up a stock heli looking to make it fly good with a smooth tail I do not do any 3D as of right now just looking for a good reliable heli .
Thank you for any advise
What I have found to be the best for me is, to have A, B, and D metal and leave the C gear plastic

They make stuff like that exactly because people refuse to learn a new skill. Anyone who solders can tell you the fear of learning was much harder than the actual activity.

Manufacturers know that when people are trying hard to avoid learning a skill that would make doing this work quick easy and cheap and they gouge them. I wouldn't buy one of these.

It took about 15 minutes but I opened the DS76T and desoldered the servo wires that came with it and soldered on the wires from the 130X. Reassembled the case for the servo and now I have a completely clean installation for a few moments of work. Didn't have to wait for delivery either.

It is not just the soldering, they are also a single source of the correct connectors. (which they also sell).

But if you are replacing a servo then you can take the connector from the old one and simply solder it up your self.

And that arrangement seams to keep the gear noise down as well ?
