Doing a couple evening sunset flights with the mystique and my new altitude telemetry on my talking DX9,, very very still calm air no lift. Getting 7- 7:30 min from 200m launch. With voice altitude reports anytime I want and at push of a button,, its interesting to note, that many times when I thought I was going up, I wasn't , very instructional. Now with my talking telemetry I should REALLY be able to get some good flights. ;-)

Well couldn't manage to find anything sustainable today but did manage 17:37 after a second power up. A good thermal and I managed to follow it way downwind and gained around 500' to a speck. Time to punch out and head home looking again for something, anything. Finally landed at almost a straight in from my final circle and bolting out. It was a great day until I lost the hatch on the SBach and had it crunch on the only rock in the middle of the field. Oh well, that is what makes this hobby so fun.

Nov 7 wed 12pm local park open class : plane 2.9m mystique RES

Just getting more used to my new Mystique RES today,,, nice fall day about 70deg white wispy clouds in the air. Stijl getting used to flying charcteristics of the Mystique,,, my!!! How good she flys!!!! Now if only her pilot could extract all of her potential. Had 10 flights this afternoon,,,, on last flight was working some low level lift at about 100ft up,, suddenly caught something , but not very strong,, just kept working it, working it,, after about 4-5 min I'm up to 1200ft,, she's gettin hard to see with her color scheme against the white wispy clouds at 1200ft,,, AND she's still goin up QUICK,,, so,,,,,, I chicken out,,, fly her over to a different part of field ( she's got GOOD legs) and she starts coming down,, so I try going over to same spot again,,,, but,,,,, lift is gone now,,, but not toooo bad!! Got a 20min flight from a 200m 30sec launch

Nice an sunny 73deg calm grab my go to grab an go lunch hour plane the trusty stock Radian. Finding consistant lift cycles over the tennis courts by the freeway,, think this area could be capable of the elusive 1 hour thermal flight. Today flying in an out of the cycling lift over the courts, never more than 500-600ft,,manage to eck out a 20:04
Plane : 2m regular radian

Hand launch:
nigel sheffield
hand launch blaster dlg
thermal
09/11/2013 10:31am
duration 13:38
location yorkshire UK

Was a nice calm morning, 1st one in ages so I made the most and flew blaster dlg till the rain stopped play.
Winds were still coming over houses so not ideal but at one point I managed a 13 min flight with a climb out to 396ft!
My launches seem to be improving too, I am getting 110ft now quite easy, and a few times when I really concentrated on my stance gave it some beans I managed just over 120ft-still a long way off the pros but good for me!

Nigel - Is the graph showing us meters altitude vs seconds duration? If so, I'm curious... what caused the absolutely linear climb from 0 to 25 meters over what appears to be nearly 3 minutes beginning at about 260 on the x-axis?

I finally got around to posting the new thread for November. So, of course, as soon as I sat down the phone started ringing.

I haven't forgotten you, Airman, and will get your flights up soon. It would be appreciated, however, if you use the standard format so it's easier for me to just copy/paste results.

Cheers!

I think something must have gone wrong there with the logs files, very strange!
That was not like that when I 1st looked at the log?!?!?!
25 meters would have been the throw but that seems to have recorded it in slow motion!
I will check the original log file next time I plug the taranis in!
The time was right though I checked that at the time.

Edit, what happened was I had started the log once I found a thermal and after 3 mins landed, then stopped the log and threw again found another thermal and started logs again, the program has joined the 2 together and made up the values!
I did this rather then recording the whole 3 hours and then having to trawl through it all to find the good bits!
I had not noticed till you spotted it!
