What is a good first car for a 5 year old?

What is a good first car for my 5 year old for driving around inside the house? Should I just go to target and get something for $10-$20. Or is there a repairable hobby grade car that would be a good place to start?
Thanks Guys!

Most of the hobby grade cars are repairable...but they're somewhere at least $100. I own a 1/10 scale hobby grade car, it's too big to go around the house, also way too fast...30mph...

I was thinking about getting a small car to have some fun at home, so this's the car I came up with. A toy grade thou...

I got my son (at the time 4yrs old) a mini lst and he LOVED it. Not too fast, very durable and endless option for parts and hop ups. It was his first RC so anytime he got a toy grade RC for his birthday as a gift or something he would say "I think there is something wrong with it, doesn"t go fast, doesn't steer good". LOL.

Guess now a days a nice brushed mini revo, summit or slash would be the way to go or at least something he can slowly save for (even if buying used)

In the end all that matters is that HE is happy with it and enjoying it!!!!

I would get a mini Los I truggy. I would rather sped $100 om something repairable than $20 on something throwaway. Plus at any age you need fully proportional controls.

^^ I would spend another $50 and get the brushless version, the 2.4ghz radio/receiver is worth the extra cost alone.

The cheaper Traxxas cars have ESC's where you can set them to only allow 50% throttle. This was great to teach my son. A five year old does not understand throttle. It's either on or off.
