Build Log
Saab J-29 Tunnan, 90 mm edf from Aerotetris

Hi!

Starting my build log for this model. The J-29 is one of my absolute favorites. As a small kid I saw it fly for the last time in active service, 1976?

First flight in 1948 and comparable to the Mig15 and F86. There are indications that it actually exceeded mach 1 in a dive at one or two occasions. But it was not intended to do so.

This model is 144 cm in lenght and that is a big model due to the wide fuselage.

My setup will be 6 cell, 5500 mha, 130-150 mha esc, 90 mm edf, retracts, detailed cockpit. This is the perfect edf for grass fields.

Sorting parts in aluminium boxes. One box for each section... Makes building faster. Just collect the box with the right section number and build. Then the next box... Easy, fast and make mistakes less possible.

Building each section at a time and add them on top of each other. Needles and white glue is good and also give you time to adjust.

The carbon rod is not necessary but it prevent you from bullding a curved body. You can relax more while building.

Egor what about the other models, or maybe it is not necessary?

What type of foam are these models cut from? I like to use glass cloth and Ht2 epoxy resin for finishing eps. Will epoxy adhere to this foam well?
