If this is the Terminator from the Charles River club, I can speak to it.
I built no less than five (they were that cheap!). Two I built per plan, the rest I made the wing into a 4-panel polyhedral.
Cheap and reasonably rugged, they taught me to not be afraid of epoxy.
I do not recall ever, ever, ever actually climbing in a thermal with one. The first airplane I was able to thermal from a hand-launch was the Chrysalis, from DJ Aerotec - still available and still a good deal at $50 US.
