Help!
frame electronics

hey guys
i have been flying quadcopters for just over 2 years now and thought it was time to try building one. I'm apparently woefully incapable of doing this however.
could i use these avionics:

http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...r_mode_2_.html

http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...0C%20Lipo%20Pa

with this frame:

?
Thank you!

Personally, I would not use any of those parts, you will end up in a mess!!!

Have you got a Tx already if you are already flying for 2 years?

Get a KK2.1 type of board to start with, much easier to use than the one you listed.
You will need to get a 6 channel Tx/Rx.
And the battery connectors don't match the battery..

What make is the Tx then?

What size of quad do you want and what kind of flying do you like, (FPV, indoor hovering, outdoor acro, slow flying in garden, fast punchouts..etc)?

What skills/tools do you have i.e computer knowledge, soldering equipment, batteries etc

let me know and I'll try and help.

the tx is from a syma x1, i also have one from the hubsan x4 fpv but i didnt think that would be much help
i love fpv but don't think that i could get both a quad and an fpv system for $150, so i do most of my flying either indoor or small spaces.
i would very much enjoy a gps location hold but as thats not gonna happen with my budget lol
i do a lot of soldering and electronics work, and i can program in c and java (also arduino).

i would just like a platform that i can fly and can upgrade/modify/cannibalize for parts later as well.

Okay, well forst of all the most important thing is the Flight controller board, I suggest either a KK2.1.5

http://www.hobbyking.co.uk/hobbyking...mel_644PA.html

or an acro naze32

http://abusemark.com/store/index.php...uhql5b4j409hg3

have a look at those for now, you will need at least 6 channel Tx and Rx

maybe a Turnigy 9x and orange module and orange RX or an orange Tx Rx may be in your peice range.

http://www.armattanquads.com/

he does an unbreakable CF226 frame

or http://www.ecksstore.se/#!product/pr...bre-mini-230mm

This may be worth a look, real cheap and made for the KK2 board:-

http://www.hobbyking.co.uk/hobbyking...otor_kit_.html

it takes a range of motors so you can experiment a bit...

I use afro 12amp esc's without any problem on my quads.

If you want a mini multirotor then what you linked in your first post is fine.

Do not listen to people telling you that you will be in a mess with parts you buy. You will not be "in a mess". All parts work the same with respect to building a quad. The mess comes from misinformation AND also not following directions.

Be very careful with a KK board because the board is pretty big to begin with and smaller frames are tough to set up. If you have no idea what you're doing when tuning PID's you will be frustrated. Trust me.

If you want something solid go with this: http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...otor_arf_.html

Then get some RCX ZMR 1804 motors as spares once those motors crap out on you.

Get a Turnigy 9XR radio, its a basic radio and you can upgrade it and tweak it. Don't cheap out on an RX/TX combo unless you know what you're doing.

If you have an existing radio you might be able to run that instead!

You do need the USB cable (does not seem to be included by HK's description) for that radio and a computer (Windows) to do any setup in the TX. However, for multi-rotors this really only needs to be done once. Set to Acro (Airplane) mode, Setup all sticks for Exactly 1500 when centered and then max the gains to get close the the 1000-2000 end point values (This can cause issues since I could not get the proper end point values. I run MW FC's so needed to adjust values in the MW code).

I have thought of getting one of those fancy FrSky radios but this just works fine.
