Thanks a lot.
Where did you place the receiver and the esc?

I am considering getting the PNP stinger 64 from HK - so you (or anyone else in this thread) can confirm the stock motor can take 4S lipos or not at all long term..? If I were only to upgrade the ESC for 4S with the stock motor, what amp rated ESC would I need- 40Amp? thanks in advance

so far Self.. record was 4 flights I think.. so.. better go with the arf from the start..
the 4s cyclone power can also fly on 3s.. but just fly..

that's a shame- I was hoping to keep it simple- and there are no suitable motor/fan unit upgrades (for running 4S safely) available at the hobbyking site that I could purchase with the ARF (no motor/electronics) version at HK at the same time?

I'm wondering, is it the stock ESC or motor that craps out in the PnP version on 4S?

Secondly, when/ if the ESC craps out, does it (usually) take out the BEC as well?

Just got my TT number from the HK Euro warehouse for a PnP

You can get a great set up from a fellow RCgrouper, and it takes only a few days to get it. Look up The Don. I just got a 4s capable fan/motor combo shipped for about the same price you will pay HK (I already had the esc). It should take my stinger close to 100 mph.

yup, I hear ya, and I like to do that as well. Don also carries the ESCs too. Can't wait to get my second one in the air. I get plenty of looks and comments at the field for the red/yellow one I have. Can't beat it for the money!

thanks I will contact the Don and see what he says- thanks- was hoping for a set up that will run well on both 3S and 4S ideally- shame the HK setup won't run well on 3S..
