Can someone point me to some oleo struts for this bird. All the option are so confusing out there. My front one takes a beating most of the time.

I was looking at these. Chop the current strut to length then slide these over? Change to single wheel of course.

I used the same OLEOs for my FMS 1400mm F6F Hellcat. The springs are too soft. On a larger plane the suspension will bottom out I was able to go to my local hardware store and find stiffer springs. Worked out great.

So you just have OLEO's on the main gear then? That would be better than nothing.
How did you do the gear bay doors?

Yes. The Hellcat is a tail dragger. The T-28 has an offset front gear strut. Still waiting for FMS to release their OLEOs for it.

The gear covers are held on using tie straps. I cut off the screw standoffs on the covers. Then I just drilled four holes into the covers at the appropriate location. The OLEO's have ridges where the tie straps cross over. These ridges keep the covers from moving but are still flexible. The OLEO's anti-rotation trailing link keeps the covers from rotating around the strut. Got lucky with the design of the OLEO. Worked better than I thought it would. Very strong too.

I haven't touched my T-28 in well over a year, new planes tend to take front stage and old favorites seem to just hang from the ceiling.

Got a call from a friend to go fly this morning, deciding what to take, the Trojan caught my eye and I loaded it up.

It performed even better than I remembered, great flying and landed like it was on rails. And the vinyl wrap I put on it is holding up quite well, the plane still looks good in the air. It won't be another year before it goes back to the field!
