It’s been done a few times I would think, just add enough weight to the nose or move the battery forward to compensate for the difference in weight of the two motors. That's why the little red motor is used, it's powerful, light and reliable, oh and it screams when it gets 24g wire wound 9 turns, it adds a considerable amount of power without adding that dreaded nose weight.

I've measured the above motor versus the famous Assassin red motor and TGY motor comes in at 10g more than the red motor ..... not a big difference and easy to balance for ......

I've done the same conversion on a Depron Delta KFm4 wing and the results are outstanding ........
I have a second Assassin which I will almost certainly convert in the near future but in the mean time go ahead and let us all know the results you get ...... I'm sure you wont be dissapointed ......

One thing ...... use as high a C rated battery as you can, particularily if your using the 1350 size ....... the TGy motor could well pull 35 (ish) amps so allow for this in your choice of ESC .....

I am no where near an expert at combat, but here's my take on it.
I think what most people miss is that combat is largely a cooperative sport, not competitive. If everybody is up there flying full speed with PopWing and Assassin-sized planes and trying to be evasive, it is very difficult to hit another plane. It's mostly just frustrating and tedious. If you really love midairs, the best way I've found is to fly a predictable path (the dreaded racetrack). Planes are most vulnerable at the turns at the ends of the path. If you don't fly a set path, then it helps if the pilots announce what they are going to do. I know that doesn't sound like a competitive game, but my friend and I, both rank amateurs, generally get one good mid-air for every hour of trying and that's what we fly for. The holy grail, the head-on midair, takes a lot of planning, a lot of cooperation, and a lot of luck. We only have one so far.

I lost it I arrived sunday morning and my assassin was not there anymore

But life goes on! Here we go! My brand new Assassin is just waiting for one servo to the maiden!

I have a Spektrum DX6I and I lost connection two times. Even with a full range receiver and new battery and eletronics. As I bought a new radio for me, a Hitec Aurora 9, I am just waiting for the receivers arrives to say good bye forever to the DX6I

I just finished my Widowmaker and Scythe the other day and finally got the chance to fly them today. They glide so very nice. This is my third Widowmaker and I've gotten much better at putting them together.

I had to do that before, too late! Now I´ll put my phone and email in the others
