Thanks David but I'm having a hard time finding it on the site.

I finally got around to weighing the airframe, with engine, radio gear, etc. With everything, less the pipe header, main servo mounts, pushrods, lower wing fairing and of course covering and finish work, it is 5.8 pounds. It has a wing area of about 660 square inches, so it should be a lot of fun with the OS 61SF ABC-P in the nose.

To be continued ……

Mike,

Search this item number: 6394A16 on McMaster-Carr's web site. 1/4" I.D. x 5.8" O.D. Garolite(G-10) tubing. Kind of pricey though.

$1.50/inch of the stuff is not too too bad. One only needs about an inch/bolt in the back or less.

The front bolts are the expensive ones where sometimes one needs 2" bolts (e.g., The Tipo)!

$6 in G-10 for bolt bearings is somewhat expensive so I take my first sentence back...

phenolic tubing is available as well and makes a excellent and much lighter substitute, it is also much easier to drill and sand..but the dust is toxic use goggles and mask please!

R_G the part number you looked up was for fire proof Garolite.

I got looking around and they had 10 different versions of Garolite McMaster -Garolite versions . Look up this part number 8527K212 McMaster it's called Hard Garolite and is only $12.36 for a 40in length.
