F14-A 1/24 Todays Hobbies flying edf conversion

Hello together,

nice to be here.

Anybody who did a Todays Hobbies F14-A 1/24 edf conversion that is actually
in service and flying?

Have a kit here and realy want to do it right.
Got experience with balsa r/c and scratch construction.

Thanks for any help and comments.

Best regards,

Alex

Hi Turbonut,

it has a wingspan of 32" loa 31"

All Balsa and a few plastic ABS parts, which i will dump.

Pics of the plan attached, i will omit the folding wing mechanics to something
more decent.

Plan to build with double edf, flaperons, elevator, rudder, retracts and folding wings.

Best regards,

Alex

Cool it looks like a fun build. I would use all micro gear and if room 2 30mm to 40mm fans. Use taileron and skip the flaperons and rudder...

Nothing that I have seen in the size your project will require. And there really is no reason to use all aluminum. Just find a proven set up...How much room is in the fuse for ducting? you may even want to consider a single fan with spilt duct/bifurcated or a oval for ease. But over all it looks like a in-depth project.. I just noticed the tape measure so it gives some scale...I think twin 40mm or single 55mm or 65 mm then keep the build very light

Got a 64mm aluminum for my A-10 Project laying on the table.
Would give me 1300 gramms of thrust on 4S 2600mAh.

Have you got good manufacturers for 40 mm edf?

quite a few build threads if you google todays hobbies - interested to see how this turns out

kits seem very reasonable priced - 30 to 40 bucks

That fan should work for a single set up.But I suspect too big for a twin.. its also a bit heavy even for a single on this project.
